Comprehensive Performance Evaluations
Tetra Tech RTW evaluates existing plants to identify design,
operation, maintenance and management problems which can lead to noncompliance,
high costs or inefficient operation. Our Comprehensive
Performance Evaluations (CPEs) are typically one week, 2-3 person
evaluations of industrial and municipal wastewater operations. The CPEs
define system capabilities and problems. Actual plant capacity, based on
present conditions, of each treatment unit can then be defined. These can
be used to identify problem areas, units with excess or minimum capacity,
and the direction in which correction programs should focus.
Recent projects include:
- Industrial plant nutrient addition to improve sludge settling and dewatering, reducing polymer costs by $500/day.
- Modification of daily operations at a 2-mgd wastewater treatment plant to save $4,000/month in aeration energy costs.
- Process control to eliminate filamentous microorganism growth and provide natural pH control.
