Marigold Mine Valmy, Nevada

“The Marigold Mine is the first operating gold mine to be certified.” (Washington, D.C., ICMI, 2/2/07)

Tetra Tech RTW assisted the Marigold Mine in meeting the certification requirements for compliance with the International Cyanide Management Code. The Tetra Tech RTW team reviewed existing process flow schematics, established synthetic site precipitation data, and developed Monte-Carlo style simulations to provide the Marigold Mine with a comprehensive probabilistic water balance.

pondA probabilistic evaluation of mine ore moisture contents and modeling of net evaporation from spray leaching processes were also incorporated into the probabilistic water balance.

Marigold Mine now has an interactive management tool to use in modeling and determining acceptable risk. Tetra Tech RTW also continues to assist in on-going engineering services, training, and support of the probabilistic water balance.
